Ryan Bethencourt

Ryan is a writer and editor of BamH1 and continues to look forward to being a part of the innovation which is driving our industry forward. Ryan is currently the Director of Business Development for a Large Clinical Research Firm based in California and continues to work with Biotech and Pharma companies both in a formal and informal capacity. Prior to moving to California, Ryan worked in a variety of business development roles within Pfizer, Merck and Cephalon as well as having been involved in the creation of several start up companies, the most notable being Rawflow.com in which he was a co-founder and Genescient in which he is an executive. He continue to advise and work with tech and biotech start ups in California and looks forward to helping to push the boundaries of science and innovation!

Previously Ryan has been a regular contributor to Techdirt.com (covered in MSNBC, Forbes and Wired) as well as a published author in Best Practices in Biotechnology Business Development. Ryan received his Master’s in Bioscience Enterprise (an MBA/Biotech fusion course) from the University of Cambridge and a BS degree in Biology and Genetics from the University of Warwick and yes, he is a self confessed bio/tech nerd!
